Question about Gretsch guitar?

Hey guys, i was wondering if u can get a crunchy overdrive effect with a gretsch guitar? Something that sounds like ACDC or anything like that. I have a good fender amp with a nice overdrive setting. i was jjust wondering because i know these guitars are used for clic rockabilly type music with a cleaner sound and i wanted to know if i bought one if i would be limited to just that. thanks guys peace
