Can you rig a shower?

I am renting a historical home. My landlord will not install a shower so my husband and I are forced to take a bath in an ancient wrought iron tub. We found a sprayer at a pet shop that connects to the spout on the tub in order to wash our hair. Is there any way we could makeshift a shower without damaging the tub. We would also need to buy a wrap-around curtain. Also we would like to avoid spending a large sum of money. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
