Laptop died???? What should i do???? PLEASE HELP?

ok so my 3yr old laptop died minutes ago (hp dv6000) after due to overheating something popped inside (somethings rattling inside) and it died. I was planning on eventually getting a macbook pro, when the new model came out in october or november. But now this machine died and i NEED another computer right away (im on brothers right now) I was also looking at 13inch macbook air, should i go with that instead since its just been updated. I dont want to go with the pro if its going to be updated in a month. PLEASE HELP, which should i choose. Im going to use my own hybrid harddrive with the macbook pro so can i buy one then return it in like 90 days or whatever with the stock harddrive.
