Going to ghana, need some advice and help?

ok, so, I've lived there before. And I was never robbed or anything like that. It was very safe. However, now that I'm going back, i wanted to read up on it and see how it was doing. However, all i'm hearing is armed robbery rates have gone up and if ur a tourist, u will get mugged if u are wearing something even a little bit expensive looking, so u shud be very discrete. However, since ive left, ive grown up quite a it and am at an age where I like to look good, not showy, but nicely dressed. I have a bike chain bracelet( http://www.eco-artware.com/catalog/products/RRCB.jpg) i always wear. so does that mean i have to not wear it whiles i'm there because it could be perceived as jewelry? btw, i dress sorta like this a skater, but formal casual. lol, hard to explain. but basically, im either wearing black or red shirt and ALWAYS black jeans (i wear white shoty and black shorts), sometimes if im in the mood, purple or blue shirt. but thats about it. i wear decent shoes. hightop or skater, and im either wearing a beanie or G-hat and sweater vest. lol. so what do u think, do i have to down my style to be safe?
